The Benton County Historical Society announced plans to offer a free hands-on time capsule activity from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30 at Philomath Museum.

Called the “Time Capsule Extravaganza,” the event is part of the Museum Kids program, which is designed for kids ages 5 and older. A BCHS official said the time capsule project is adjustable to all ages.

The BCHS has details and ideas for participants online about the time capsule activity.

“Embark on a journey through time and create a living record of the moments that made 2023 unforgettable,” BCHS says in an online post. “Join us for an enchanting day at the museum, where we’ll craft a time capsule to hold the essence of this extraordinary year!”

Philomath Museum is located at 1101 Main St. and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
