A 24-year-old Philomath man was arrested this week on multiple felony charges after Corvallis Police say he sexually exploited and abused a 15-year-old girl he met through social media.

Gabriel A. Cleveland was booked into the Benton County Jail following an investigation by the Corvallis Police Department, which found that he became acquainted with the victim through another juvenile before connecting with her on Snapchat.

According to police, Cleveland sent the girl sexually explicit photos and videos during their communications and pressured her to send explicit images of herself, threatening to harm her if she refused. Investigators said he later arranged to meet the victim at a Corvallis park, where he allegedly provided her with marijuana and sexually abused her.

Cleveland faces 11 charges, including unlawful sexual penetration in the first degree, using a child in the display of sexually explicit conduct, two counts of encouraging child sexual abuse, three degrees of sexual abuse, two counts of online sexual corruption of a child, luring a minor, endangering the welfare of a minor and unlawful delivery of marijuana to a minor.

Corvallis Police said the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information related to the case to contact the department at 541-766-6924.
