Several fire departments, including personnel and equipment from Philomath and Kings Valley, responded to a house fire on Friday morning in Eddyville, Philomath Fire & Rescue reported.

Philomath firefighters responded at 8:15 a.m. Jan. 27 to a mutual aid request to help battle the residential blaze. Newport and Toledo also sent units with firefighters finding the house “well involved on arrival,” according to Philomath Fire & Rescue Deputy Fire Chief Rich Saalsaa.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Saalsaa said the house was a total loss.

The local fire department sent an engine with five personnel in response to the initial mutual aid request and minutes later also sent a water tender with one personnel. Philomath Fire & Rescue Chief Chancy Ferguson assisted at the scene with incident command.

Saalsaa said firefighters were at the scene for three hours.
