The Philomath High School girls basketball team had to fight to the very end for a 48-43 victory over Cascade on Wednesday night. The Warriors had beaten Cascade by 26 points in their first meeting this season but the Cougars upped their game in the rematch.

With the game tied 20-20 at the break, Philomath took a four-point lead going into the fourth quarter. Junior Sage Kramer found the zone in the third quarter for 12 points, half of those coming on a pair of 3-pointers. In the fourth, Kramer and Kaili Saathoff led the way as the Warriors came out unscathed to go to 6-0 on the season.

Kramer finished with 32 points on 11 field goals and 7 of 9 free throws.

The Warriors come back home on Friday to host Sweet Home. The Huskies will enter the game with a 4-3 record.
