The Philomath High School girls golf team competed Wednesday at McNary Golf Club, finishing fourth among the five schools that had complete teams in the event, which was hosted by Blanchet Catholic.
Senior Isabelle Muir led Philomath with an 18th-place finish, carding a 49 on the front nine and a 57 on the back for a 106 total. Senior Shaylee May placed 23rd with rounds of 57 and 57 for a 114. Senior Marlee Quetschke and junior Annaleise Brown each tied for 33rd. Quetschke shot 62 and 64 for a 126 while Brown posted rounds of 71 and 55 for a matching 126.
Salem Academy’s Chloe Johnson turned in the top individual score with a 4-over par 75.
Santiam Christian won the team title with a score of 409, followed by Taft at 430 and Sweet Home at 438. The Warriors posted a team score of 472 with Newport fifth at 495. Nine other schools were represented at the meet and in all, 43 individuals finished the course.
The Warriors are next scheduled to compete on April 13 at the Mallard Creek Invitational near Lebanon.
