The Philomath High School girls tennis went on the road Friday for a 7-1 victory over Stayton with the Warriors sweeping the doubles matches and winning three of four in singles.

Phoebe Dodson and Daniella Carlisle teamed up at No. 1 doubles for a 6-3, 6-2 victory over their Stayton counterparts. Nadia Durski and Lorelei Schell were winners in the No. 2 slot, 6-3, 6-1. Mia Cook and Stella Neville got a competitive match at No. 3 but came out on top, 6-4, 6-4. And at No. 4, Lucie Oster and Lillian Hansen won the closest match of the day, 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.

In the singles matches, Bailey Bell won in the No. 1 spot by a 6-0, 6-0 margin. At No. 2, Adele Beckstead defeated her opponent, 6-0, 6-2. Megan Reese was a winner at No. 3 singles in a match that stretched to three sets, 6-2, 1-6, 6-1.

Philomath’s next match is scheduled for Monday at home against Marist Catholic.
