Big thanks to all of our volunteers, donors, and supportive community members who make our work possible. Below is a snapshot of our latest activities. 2021 Annual Report
The PCS Annual Report is now available online via this link. It is so encouraging to see what can be done when folks come together under our motto of people helping people. Here are a few report highlights:
- We logged 15,834 hours from over 100 volunteers! What a generous community we have.
- Through our five programs, PCS provided social services to over 2,250 adults and 1,250 children.
- We processed over 600,000 lbs (300 tons!) of food and over 4,000 lbs of childrens’ clothing.

Note from the Gleaners
The Philomath Community Gleaners here at PCS would like to let the community know that they are looking forward to gleaning back yards and fields this summer. Gleaning is the backbone of this program (to the right are photos of our gleans from the last harvest season.) Please note that while we can pick anything, we are not allowed to accept fruit that has fallen on the ground or items that are buggy.

Thank you, Jean Goul!
Special thanks to our intrepid Past-President, Jean! A pillar of our organization for many years, Jean served as President from 2019 through 2021—the thick of the pandemic. Jean has been awarded a plaque in honor of her excellent service, then and now! She is relentless in her service and a true inspiration.

Food Bank Raffle a Success
The Philomath Food Bank is keeping things creative with useful raffle baskets. Donated items are presented beautifully and won by lucky members of the Food Bank community. Don’t those baskets look fun?

PCS at the Block Party
We had a blast at the 2022 Memorial Day Block Party and Concert. 🌞 Thanks to all who stopped by our booth. We were able to give away lots of goodies and raffle off bags of summer fun!
PCS Welcomes Board Members
We would like to officially welcome our newest Board members: Tom Klipfel, Evan Burford, Brent Kaseman, and Rev. Dr. Jim Pierce! PCS is fortunate to have such talented and dedicated volunteers.
Working the Garden
Thanks for all the help during our spring garden work parties! We are working on acquiring new benches, chairs, a shed—among other things. It will be exciting to watch the garden grow through the upcoming years.
Call for Volunteers!
We are looking for a couple of key volunteers:
- JKK Program Manager: Think you might enjoy sourcing clothes to parents for their children? We need a Program Manager for June’s Kids Kloset. You would be involved with managing donations, organizing clothing, and ordering new items.
- Facilities Manager: We need a handy person for building upkeep: fixing leaky sinks, changing bulbs, coordinating with outside vendors for routine maintenance—things like that. You would work on your own schedule, and your help would be greatly appreciated!
