The Philomath High boys tennis team improved to 2-0 in league play and 4-1 overall with a 6-2 win Thursday at Estacada.

The Warriors swept the singles matches with junior Dawson Beckstead, senior Dylan Bell, sophomore Andrew Leonard and senior Mark Grimmer all winning in straight sets. Beckstead at No. 1 singles defeated foreign-exchange student Santiago Herrera Morales 6-3, 6-3 in the most competitive of the four. Bell and Grimmer both won by 6-0, 6-0 margins and Leonard dominated as well with a 6-0, 6-1 win.

Junior Teddy Benbow and senior Noah Aynes teamed up for a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles. And in the closest matchup of the afternoon, sophomore Sawyer Ainsworth and freshman Jackson Holroyd fought back for a 2-6, 7-5, 10-5 victory — the final set decided on a super tiebreaker.

The Warriors will next head to the Oregon Episcopal Tournament on Saturday in Portland.
