Park Advisory Board plans to meet Thursday

The Philomath Park Advisory Board plans to meet at 5 p.m. Thursday through videoconferencing with the new veterans memorial park and the city’s disc golf among items appearing on the agenda.

Discussion on the proposed Paul J. Cochran Veterans Memorial Park at College and North 16th streets is starting to move into looking at design elements. Last month, the board looked at results of recent surveys that had been conducted.

A local resident and business owner approached the board last month about making and installing new signage to improve the playing experience at the Marys River Park disc golf course and this meeting will likely include an update.

Also, an update on the Philomath Parks and Trails Master Plan is on the agenda, specifically a look at a draft version of the park system philosophy. Staff updates on the Millpond Crossing park and tree-planting in local parks are also scheduled.

The public can watch a live feed of the meeting on the city’s Facebook page.
