SATURDAY, MAY 9

• 3:55 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash at the Interstate 5 and Highway 58 interchange south of Eugene that took the life of Richard Delbert Hemminger, 62, of Eugene. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Hemminger was driving a southbound Ford Explorer, merged onto the Highway 58 offramp and left the eastbound shoulder of the roadway for unknown reasons. The vehicle rolled several times and ejected Hemminger. He was not believed to be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Hemminger was declared deceased at the scene.

MONDAY, MAY 11

• 9:38 p.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-motorcycle crash on Highway 62 near Central Point that took the lives of John Daren Stribling, 56, of Central Point, and Bobbie Lynn Stribling-King, 44, of Central Point. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a westbound Dodge Ram pickup driven by Kristin Michelle Cowan, 35, of Medford, struck the rear of a westbound Kawasaki Eliminator motorcycle ridden by John Stribling. John Stribling and Stribling-King, a passenger, were declared deceased at the scene. Impairment is considered a primary cause of the crash. Cowan was arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and manslaughter.
