THURSDAY, APRIL 10

• 3:15 p.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-tractor crash on Highway 204 about 7 miles northwest of Elgin that took the life of Mikel D Cribbs, 44, of Hermiston. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Cribbs was headed west in a Hyundai Sonata and for unknown reasons crossed into the eastbound lane and struck head-on a John Deere tractor operated by a 42-year-old North Powder man. The collision caused extensive damage to the Hyundai and the John Deere to overturn. Cribbs was declared deceased at the scene. The tractor’s operator reportedly suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

SATURDAY, APRIL 12

• 3:35 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 22E near Detroit that took the life of Kasey John Fox, 40, of Troutdale. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Fox was driving east on Highway 22E in a Ford F-150 reportedly at a high rate of speed when the vehicle crossed the centerline and hit the westbound guardrail. The Ford crossed back into the eastbound lane, left the shoulder and struck several trees with the vehicle coming to rest approximately 50 feet from the roadway. Fox was declared deceased at the scene. OSP reported that the primary cause of the crash was considered to be speed.

MONDAY, APRIL 14

• 11:42 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 82 near Hermiston in Umatilla County that took the life of Donald James Drouillard, 35, of Hermiston. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Drouillard was driving east in a Toyota 4Runner and failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and rolled down an embankment with the vehicle coming to rest on its roof in the median. OSP said Drouillard, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and declared deceased at the scene.

FRIDAY, APRIL 18

• 7:07 a.m. — Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 20 just east of Newport that took the life of Maria Paz Hosey, 42, of Newport. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Hosey was driving east in a GMC Terrace and for unknown reasons crossed the centerline and struck head-on a westbound Dodge Journey driven by a 46-year-old Halsey man. The GMC spun around and was struck by a westbound Dodge Dakota, driven by a 19-year-old Newport man, that was following the Journey. The Journey caught fire in the collision and was engulfed in flames. Hosey was declared deceased at the scene. The Journey’s driver was able to exit his vehicle with unknown injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The Dakota’s driver reportedly suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.

  1. I always hate hearing about wrecks on hwy 20 I’m from Newport have many friends and family that live over there would not enjoy hearing about a wreck where I now the people my heart goes out to those people whom have had to deal with anyone getting in a wreck on hwy 20
