• Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 26 and Haley Road north and east of Boring in Clackamas County that took the life of Richard Allan Kerron, 79, of Boring. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Kerron was driving a GMC Envoy south on Haley Road and entered Highway 26 in front of a Toyota Camry driven by a 33-year-old Sandy man that was heading east. The crash forced the GMC onto its top and the vehicle collided with a Toyota Solara driven by a 19-year-old Salem man. Kerron was pronounced deceased at the scene. An 82-year-old woman in the GMC was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles involved were reportedly not injured.
• Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 near Chiloquin in Klamath County that took the lives of Winnie Mae Hescock, 41, of Klamath Falls, and Laurice Lee Foster, 41, of Chiloquin. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a 38-year-old Chiloquin woman was driving a Ford Expedition south on Highway 97 when it slid sideways into the northbound lane and struck a Ford F-350 towing a horse trailer that was being driven by a 31-year-old Bend man. The Expedition, which was stuck in the side, came to rest in the northbound ditch while the F-350 blocked most of the highway. Hescock and Foster, passengers in the Expedition, were declared deceased at the scene. The driver and a third passenger, a 56-year-old Chiloquin resident, were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. All of the occupants in the F-350 were not injured — the driver, two adult passengers ages 58 and 32 and two children ages 21 months and 13 months. The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
