TUESDAY, AUG. 12

• 12:24 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 62 in Jackson County between Rogue Elk and Cascade Gorge that took the life of Daniel Charles Forgey, 28, of Prospect. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Forgey was driving west in a Chevrolet Suburban when for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, struck a guardrail and rolled. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Forgey was declared deceased at the scene.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 13

• 10:41 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 126 in Eugene that took the life of Jan Dwight McSilvers, 72, of Springfield. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that McSilvers was headed east on a Harley Davidson motorcycle and failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The motorcycle rolled on top of the operator. McSilvers was declared deceased at the scene.

THURSDAY, AUG. 14

• 9:49 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 a few miles south of Bend that took the life of Felicia Devin Nicholson, 33, of Bend. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Nicholson was driving north in a Honda Accord when for unknown reasons, drifted across the center line and struck a southbound Honda Odyssey driven by a 46-year-old Oregon City man. Nicholson was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Odyssey’s driver was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Five passengers in the Odyssey, a 45-year-old Oregon City woman and four girls ages 17, 14, 11 and 9, were all taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

SATURDAY, AUG. 16

• 2:21 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 224 near Three Lynx in Clackamas County that took the life of Tony James Gonzalez, 52, of Molalla. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Gonzalez was headed east on a Suzuki GSXR-1000 when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck the guardrail. Gonzalez was declared deceased at the scene.

SUNDAY, AUG. 17

• 9:22 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 20 east of Albany that took the life of Ryker Thomas Pittam, 19, of Albany. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Pittam was headed west in a Toyota 4Runner and swerved to avoid another vehicle attempting to make a left turn into a driveway. The 4Runner rolled and the driver was ejected. Pittam was transported to an area hospital and later declared deceased.

MONDAY, AUG. 18

• 1:03 p.m. — Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 26 northwest of Sandy that took the life of Bryan Ray Robinson, 48, of Sandy. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a 46-year-old Gresham man was headed east in a GMC Savannah that reportedly experienced a mechanical failure that led to rear-ending a Honda Fit, driven by Robinson, that was slowing down to stop for the traffic light at the highway’s intersection with Orient Drive. The collision pushed the Honda into an eastbound Infinity QX5 driven by a 52-year-old Portland woman who was stopped at the traffic light. Robinson was declared deceased at the scene. The drivers of the GMC and Infinity reportedly suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital.

• 5:48 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 26 in rural Baker County that took the life of Michael Allen Klaus, 74, of Stanfield. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Klaus was headed west on a Kawasaki Ninja, lost control and slid into a ditch. Klaus was declared deceased at the scene.

TUESDAY, AUG. 19

• 2:50 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 99 west of Rogue River that took the life of Katrina Ann Knight, 59, of Grants Pass. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Knight was headed south in a Ford Ranger when for unknown reasons, left the roadway, rolled and struck a utility pole. Knight was declared deceased at the scene.

• 9:36 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 58 southeast of McCredie Springs that took the life of Joseph Bowers Luker Sr., 74, of Eugene. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated Luker was headed west in a Nissan Sentra when for unknown reasons left the roadway, traveled down an embankment and rolled to its side. Luker was declared deceased at the scene.

THURSDAY, AUG. 21

• 7:52 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 95 in rural Malheur County that took the life of Barry Thomas Hostler, 48, of Truckee, California. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Hostler was driving north on the highway and struck the rear of a northbound Case International tractor, operated by a 67-year-old Jordan Valley man, that was moving at slow speeds. Hostler was declared deceased at the scene. The tractor’s operator was reportedly not injured.
