MONDAY, MARCH 23
• 8 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 about 14 miles south of La Grande that took the life of Corbin Ronald Knowles, 49, of Kuna, Idaho. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Knowles was driving west on I-84 in a Chevrolet Silverado when for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, rolled several times and came to rest on its roof. Knowles was declared deceased at the scene.
TUESDAY, MARCH 24
• 7:16 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 7 about 5 miles east of McEwen in Baker County that took the life of Jonathan Roger Schmeck, 25, of Burns. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Schmeck was driving north on Highway 7 in a Honda Accord and for unknown reasons left the roadway, rolled several times and struck a tree. The exact time of the crash is unknown. Schmeck, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was declared deceased at the scene.
