SUNDAY, MARCH 15

• 9:21 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 238 about 12 miles south of Grants Pass that took the life of Jacob David Bailey, 33, of Grants Pass. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Bailey was driving a westbound Ford F-150 when it failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and rolled multiple times. Bailey was declared deceased at the scene.

TUESDAY, MARCH 17

• 7:49 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 about 22 miles north of Modoc Point in Klamath County that took the life of Sue Anne Evans, 76, of Grants Pass. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Evans was driving a northbound Dodge Ram pulling a trailer near Chiloquin when it crossed into the southbound lane for an unknown reason. The Dodge collided head-on with a southbound Ford F550 towing a trailer and forklift driven by a 44-year-old Walla Walla, Washington, man. Evans was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Ford’s driver had minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25

• 5:28 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 about 3 miles north of Durkee in Baker County that took the life of David Patrick Carson, 60, of Naples, New York. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Carson was driving an eastbound Chevrolet Suburban when it left the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle rolled several times and came to a stop approximately 80 yards into a field south of the highway. Carson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

MONDAY, MARCH 30

• 7:59 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 about 2 miles south of Woodburn that took the life of Romaldo Lopez Lopez, 31, of Salem. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Lopez was driving a southbound Honda Civic in the northbound lanes of I-5 when it collided head-on with a northbound Acura ZDX driven by a 43-year-old Beaverton woman. Lopez was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Acura’s driver had minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

THURSDAY, APRIL 2

• 6:01 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 about 3 miles south of Canyonville that took the life of Siayrah Jade Steeley, 25, of Salem. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Steeley was driving a southbound BMW 320 when it left the roadway for unknown reasons near the milepost 95 offramp near Canyonville. The vehicle traveled approximately 400 feet on the grassy shoulder before colliding with a tree. The vehicle traveled another 40 feet down the riverbank before coming to rest and catching fire. Steeley was pronounced deceased at the scene.

• 7:41 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 34 about 3 miles east of Waldport that took the life of Jack Hendrick Walton, 51, of Portland. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a westbound Chrysler Sebring driven by a 24-year-old Troutdale man was traveling near Waldport when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into several trees on the westbound embankment. Walton was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Chrysler’s driver was transported by Life Flight to an area hospital with serious injuries. Speed and suspected impairment are believed to have been contributing factors in the crash.
