FRIDAY, FEB. 28

• 5:22 p.m. — Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 18 about 7 miles east of Otis in Lincoln County that took the life of Mark Joseph Sutherland, 64, of Portland. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Sutherland was driving west in a Dodge Ram 1500, entered the eastbound lane, sideswiped a Toyota Rav4 driven by a 27-year-old Poplarville, Mississippi, man and then hit head-on a Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 34-year-old Willamina man. Sutherland was declared deceased at the scene. The Chevrolet’s driver was transported via helicopter to an emergency medical center with serious injuries. The Toyota’s driver was transported to a hospital reportedly with minor injuries.

MONDAY, MARCH 3

• 5:42 a.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 about 2 miles south of Midland in Klamath County that took the lives of Derek Ryan Ford, 30, of Woodland, Colorado, and Amy Wilson, 48, of Klamath Falls. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Ford was driving north in a Nissan Frontier and for unknown reasons crossed the center line and struck head-on a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Wilson. Ford and Wilson were both declared deceased at the scene.

TUESDAY, MARCH 4

• Time NA  — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 395 near the intersection with Interstate 84 southwest of Hermiston that took the life of Rosa Maria Badillo, 74, of Pasco, Washington. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Buick Lacrosse driven by a 65-year-old Pasco resident was headed south on Highway 395 and while turning left onto the I-84 on-ramp struck a Toyota CHR driven by a 41-year-old Hermiston woman. Badillo, a passenger in the Buick, was declared deceased at the scene. The Buick’s driver and a 59-year-old passenger were transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Another Buick passenger, an 81-year-old Pasco man, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The Toyota’s driver and a 10-year-old girl who was a passenger were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
