WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19

• 5:23 a.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Highway 199 about 4 miles north of Selma in Josephine County that took the life of Buck Carlos Gene Arby Ward, 58, of Crescent City, California. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a 36-year-old Cave Junction man was driving a Ford F-150 north on the highway when he struck Ward, who was walking in the roadway for unknown reasons. Ward was declared deceased at the scene. The Ford’s driver was reportedly not injured. Fog was being considered as a contributing factor in the crash.
