WEDNESDAY, AUG. 27

• 4:22 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 about 9 miles south of La Grande that took the life of Jejo Haes, 28, of La Grande. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Haes was headed west on I-84 in a Ford F350 when for unknown reasons, the pickup left the roadway and crashed into a tree and landed at the bottom of a creek bed. Haes was pronounced deceased at the scene.

SATURDAY, AUG. 30

•1:42 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 402 about 3 miles west of Long Creek that took the life of Phillip Westly Bunger, 63, of Tacoma, Washington. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Bunger was headed east on Highway 402 on a Honda motorcycle when for unknown reasons, he left the roadway and hit loose gravel on the shoulder of the road. The motorcycle tipped over and rolled several times. Bunger was pronounced deceased at the scene.

SUNDAY, AUG. 31

• 5:59 a.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Highway 126 at its intersection with Huston Road near Veneta that took the life of Dakota Blue Gilbert, 22, of Veneta. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Gilbert entered the roadway and was struck by an eastbound sport utility vehicle. He was declared deceased at the scene. The driver did not stop at the scene and has not been identified. The suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a light-colored 2010 to 2013 Chevrolet Equinox and likely has front-end damage, possibly lower to the ground. • 7:26 p.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Highway 34 near the Interstate 5 Corvallis-Lebanon exit in Linn County that took the life of Hollenia Ann Russell, 44, of Albany. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Russell entered the highway and was struck by a Dodge Avenger that was headed west. Russell was declared deceased at the scene. The Dodge’s driver, a 27-year-old Lebanon woman, reportedly suffered minor injuries.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 3

• 9:25 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on the Highway 62 Expressway in Jackson County that took the life of Michael R. Graham, 20, of Eagle Point. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a 19-year-old Eagle Point man was driving a Honda CRV east on the highway when he failed to negotiate a turn, lost control and struck a concrete barrier. The vehicle caught fire with the driver and passenger trapped inside. Graham, who was the passenger in the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 4

• 6:05 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 99 in the Medford vicinity that took the life of Tristan Mitchel Donaldson, 21, of Rogue River. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Donaldson was driving a Mazda MZ3 south on Highway 99 at excessive speeds and lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway, rolled multiple times and came to rest against a tree. Donaldson was declared deceased at the scene.
