FRIDAY, JUNE 14
• 9:55 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Highway 86 about 11 miles of Richland that took the life of Jona Gayle Moss, 68, of Boise, Idaho. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by a 66-year-old Boise man failed to negotiate a left-hand turn and left the roadway. The Harley traveled approximately 100 feet along the shoulder and 30 feet down an embankment while ejecting both the operator and passenger. The motorcycle came to rest partially on top of the operator. Moss was declared deceased at the scene. The operator was transported via life flight to a hospital.
SATURDAY, JUNE 15
• 3:08 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 58 about 10 miles east of Oakridge that took the life of Will Ed Bryson Jr., 77, of Klamath Falls. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated a Ford F-350 driven by Bryson was headed east on the highway when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree. Bryson was declared deceased while in transport to an area hospital. A passenger, a 78-year-old Klamath Falls woman, was transported via ground ambulance and life flight to an area hospital.
• 5:57 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 about 10 miles east of Pendleton that took the life of Barbara Claudine Abercrombie, 56, of Irrigon. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Abercrombie was headed west on the highway when it struck the fear of a Peterbilt semi truck driven by a 29-year-old Meridian, Idaho, man. At the time of the collision, the semi was slowly descending a steep grade with its hazard lights activated. Abercombie was declared deceased at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
MONDAY, JUNE 17
• 5:51 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 26 about 6 miles east of Prineville that took the life of Clifford Dean Shields, 54, of Prineville. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Toyota Tundra driven by Shields was headed west on the highway when for unknown reasons it drifted across the eastbound lane, left the roadway and struck a rock and tree. The vehicle began to roll and came to a rest of the passenger side on the east side of the highway. Motorists in the area stopped, extricated the driver and performed CPR. Shields was declared deceased at the scene.
TUESDAY, JUNE 18
• 12:06 a.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Highway 211 near Woodburn that took the life of Martin Cabanas Salgado, 56, city of residence unknown. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a Kia Soul driven by a 23-year-old Canby man was headed east on the highway when it struck Salgado, who was reportedly walking on the fog line. Salgado was declared deceased at the scene. The Kia driver and a passenger, a 22-year-old Canby man, were not injured and cooperated with investigators.
