THURSDAY, SEPT. 11
• 10:53 a.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on State Route 3 in Wallowa County about 2 miles south of the Washington border that took the life of Ryan Jeffrey Bonivert, 42, of Clarkson, Washington. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Bonivert’s Dodge 2500 that he was driving left the roadway and rolled nearly 500 feet down an embankment. The driver was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. OSP believes the crash had occurred in the early hours that morning. Bonivert was declared deceased at the scene.
FRIDAY, SEPT. 12
• 11:43 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 at the Exit 159 (Tower Road) on-ramp about 5 miles west of Boardman that took the life of Austin Scott Yager, 38, of Bend. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Yager was heading east on I-84 when the Volkswagen Jetta he was driving had mechanical failure and came to a stop on the on-ramp. A semi-truck driven by a 33-year-old Miami, Florida, man entered the on-ramp and struck the stationary Volkswagen with the driver outside of the vehicle. Yager was pronounced deceased at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 13
• 7:24 p.m. — Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 22 in western Yamhill County that took the life of Devere Tucker Eastman, 45, of Dallas. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Eastman was driving east on Highway 22 in a Dodge Ram 1500 when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck a tree. Eastman was declared deceased at the scene.
