Thirty-five Philomath students will receive degrees from Oregon State University on Saturday at Reser Stadium in Corvallis and on Sunday at the OSU-Cascade campus in Bend.

The graduation ceremony on Saturday in Corvallis is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. with the gates opening at 9 a.m.

The featured commencement speaker will be Lamar Hurd, a well-known sports analyst, youth ambassador, Oregon State University trustee, alumnus and former Beavers basketball player.

This year’s class includes a record 7,318 graduating students receiving 7,574 degrees, with 250 students receiving two degrees and three who will receive three degrees.

The number of graduates is the second most in university history, behind only last year. They will add to the ranks of OSU alumni, who have earned 280,013 degrees over the university’s history.
