A collision on Highway 20 that involved a Jeep and a recreational vehicle near Blodgett Friday afternoon sent one person to the hospital, Philomath Fire and Rescue reported.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at 1:42 p.m. to an area about 2 miles east of Blodgett. Upon arrival, fire department personnel found that the two vehicles were about a quarter-mile apart. The driver of the Jeep was uninjured, while the RV driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by a Corvallis Fire ambulance to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
According to a report on the incident, the RV’s propane tank was damaged in the crash, which resulted in a minor leak. However, officials confirmed that the leak did not pose any immediate danger.
Eastbound Highway 20 was closed for approximately 20 minutes while crews responded.
Philomath Fire and Rescue’s response included an engine crew of four and an incident commander to assist the Blodgett-Summit Rural Fire Protection District.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation also responded.
