Peggy was born in Harrisburg, Oregon on September 14th, 1954 to parents Barbara Bush and Jack Bush. She grew up primarily on a hazelnut farm known as Bush’s Fern View Farms today, but the family also sold peaches, cherries, and raised a few sheep and cattle as well. The Bush family started raising hazelnut nursery stock and strawberries to sell to other growers when Peggy was attending Sheldon High School, which she later graduated from in 1972.

That same year, her father decided to sell their home north of Coburg, Oregon because of the winter freeze that killed all the hazelnuts. Peggy went on to attend Oregon State University and graduated with a degree in Business Management in 1976.

During her college years, Peggy and her brother Dwayne bought the five acre Peach Orchard from their father and ran it for a few years until it was the right time to sell, making good profit. She resided and worked in Philomath, Oregon at Axis Electric for the last 16 years and was preparing to retire when she suddenly fell ill from an aneurysm.

She married Jay Harman of Corvallis, Oregon and together they had two children. The marriage came to an end in 2001, but they maintained a good friendship.

Peggy later married Patrick Wescott April 24th, 2010 and they enjoyed a simple life together, traveled occasionally, but took the most comfort in their home, traditions and family. She also attended and participated at the College United Methodist Church regularly, and cherished her “SCORE” friends who started out as basketball moms nearly 20 years ago. Family events always included Peggy’s special dishes, homemade birthday cakes, and everyone looked forward to her famous crescent rolls. She was a gentle, nurturing, kind spirit that held a lot of pride in her children and flower gardens.

Survivors included the loves of her life: husband Patrick Wescott; son Jason Calvin Harman, Portland, Or.; daughter Jaclin Pearl Paul (Brian), Graham, Wa,; stepdaughter Jennifer Bjugan (Richard), Portland, Or.; mother Barbara Bush of Eugene, Or.; Dwayne Bush (Jean) of Junction City, Or.; Grandchildren Baylee, Elijah, Kaden Paul; Richard Jr., Payden Bjugan, Jessie Jr., and Tanya Sigea; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to share a memory online at McHenry Funeral Home. A Celebration of life service will be held at Oregon Garden on Palm Sunday, March 28th, 2021. There is no set time yet. An RSVP e-mail will be sent out to friends and family as well with more details.
