Michael J. Stouder, born to Gerald and Joan Stouder on Aug. 9, 1962, in Homer, Alaska, passed away on May 11, 2026.
Michael moved with his family to Oregon in the mid-1960s, where they made their home in Philomath. He wrestled for Philomath High and later served with the U.S. Army.
After his service was completed, he returned to the area and started a career working in the woods. He was a legend in the woods and in life. He helped anyone and never asked for anything in return. The only thing that may have rivaled his love of logging and family was the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 30-plus years, Steffanie; his daughter Sheyenne; and his treasured furbabies, Ruby and Bella. They had 27 foster children over the years and several special needs animals.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Aug. 1 at Alsea Grange (27373 Alsea Deadwood Highway, Alsea).
