Kenneth Jeffery Melton, lovingly known as Jeff, was born in Salem, Oregon, and passed away at 69 in Albany, Oregon.

Jeff spent his youth working at Richey’s Market in Corvallis. He graduated from Crescent Valley High School in 1973, dedicating his adult life to working with his hands in wood mills and manufacturing in the Corvallis and Philomath areas. He also worked in Ketchikan, Alaska, and Redmond, Oregon.
Jeff was a pool shark and loved all sports. He was a dedicated Oregon State Beavers fan. Fishing and camping trips, especially to his favorite destination, Diamond Lake, were among his happiest moments, and he cherished the peace, joy and connection he found in the outdoors. He carried an enduring faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jeff is survived by his loving companion, Audra Nichols of Philomath; his daughter, Jamie Melton of Portland; his mother, Marge (Melton) Wirfs, and stepfather, Larry Wirfs of Monument, Oregon; his brothers, Max (Jeana) Melton and Brian (Denna) Melton of Corvallis; his sister, Debbie Hasson of Portland; and many other extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth James Melton; his birth mother, Gaynell Gibson; his sisters, Linda Sandborn and Dottie Diem; and his brother, Jackie Melton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff’s memory to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice in Albany, Oregon.
