Cynthia “Cindy” Eileen Shaffer, 59, of Philomath, Oregon, passed away on January 20, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Cindy was born on July 14, 1965, in Corvallis, Oregon, to Robert D. and Nancy I. Shaffer. Cindy grew up and went through school in Philomath, graduating from PHS in 1982. During summers while in high school, Cindy worked in a restaurant in Sisters, Oregon, which her father and stepmother operated. After graduating, Cindy continued to work as a prep chef in several restaurants in Corvallis and central Oregon, most recently at a resort near Bend. She enjoyed traveling long road trips with her dog Bitsy, finding unique shops to buy fun clothing pieces and keeping up to date with the latest TV shows.
Cindy is survived by her daughter, Raechel Madden (nee Shaffer), her brother Tracy Shaffer, her nephew Gage Shaffer, and her stepfather, Richard Raleigh. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and brother Jeffrey Shaffer.
There will be no public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible remembrances may be made in Cindy’s name to the Mount Union Cemetery Association.
