It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caleb, due to a traffic accident. Caleb was just 27 years old. He was born in Corvallis, Oregon, and lived his entire life in Philomath, Oregon.

Caleb graduated from Alsea High School in 2016. He was a heavy equipment operator and CDL driver. He absolutely loved his job getting to drive the big boy toys! He could drive anything.

Caleb had many passions in life. Anything outdoors, hunting, shooting, fishing, mudding, 4-wheeling, photography. Just hanging out with his friends, and he has a lot of great friends. Caleb gave so much of himself to so many people. He truly was your best friend! Caleb would help anyone at any time, but of course, he would do it on “Caleb time.” If you needed help, he was there.

Caleb showed swine in 4-H for eighth years and received several ribbons. He went to state twice. He was an expert marksman and could shoot accurately both right- and left-handed.

Caleb traveled many places with his family and his friends, including going to Ireland, and Hawaii twice. He and his friends enjoyed going on motorcycle trips. This last summer spending time traveling around California.

Caleb is survived by his mom, Kathy (Boege) Rowland-Barnes and his brother, Joshua “JD” Rowland, and sister-in-law, Kristyn Rowland. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Barnes Sr. Caleb has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who all loved him and are missing him greatly. Caleb also has many friends that he called brothers and were all very special to him.

We will have a Celebration of Life on Dec. 14, 2024. The time will be at 12 noon at Northwest Hills Community Church, located at 3300 NW Walnut Blvd., Corvallis, OR 97330. Everyone is invited. We will keep it a casual affair. There will be a reception following. You are welcome to bring finger foods or snacks to share, or just bring some stories!

We will spread his ashes the following day. Please contact Kathy if you would like more information.
