VOLUME 7, NUMBER 47
Friday, February 27, 2026

Good morning, Philomath.

On the ballot this May will be a local option operating levy for Philomath Fire and Rescue, which would replace an expiring bond at the same rate. The city’s park board will meet Tuesday to choose bands for the summer concert series. We have a service notice for the late Linda Modrell. Rotary will host a meeting featuring info on the school district’s Weekend Food Pack Program. Partner content includes pieces on Kotek’s Prosperity Council, the secretary of state’s election-related concerns and the another delay on the vote to reschedule the transportation tax election. Oh, and check out the sunset picture by Eric Niemann in Philomath in Photos.

Note to newsletter subscribers: The Saturday newsletter will arrive in your inbox later than usual. I will be covering the state wrestling tournament in Portland tonight and don’t anticipate getting home until past midnight. So I’ll work on the story and photos Saturday morning with plans to get the newsletter out to you by noon. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
