VOLUME 7, NUMBER 43
Sunday, February 22, 2026

Good morning, Philomath.

A extremely busy stretch of events has delayed the newsletter by one day this weekend but here we go. We have a report on the chamber’s Samaritan Awards from Friday night, including a photo gallery by Andy Cripe. PHS junior Lucas Brandt repeated as 100 breaststroke champion and shattered his own 200 IM school record at state swimming and be sure to check out the photo gallery. The Warriors boys basketball team stayed alive for a conference title with a rout over Stayton. The girls lost to the defending state champion Eagles but are still playoff bound. We have a gallery from both games that also includes Senior Night photos. PHS freshman Makinzey Harrington qualified for state out of the girls wrestling district tournament. The Inclusivity Committee has a meeting coming up. The latest OSP Log reports on two highway fatalities. Plus, partner content from Oregon Capital Chronicle. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
