VOLUME 7, NUMBER 199
Thursday, September 10, 2026
Good morning, Philomath.
Wanting to get a look at Philomath High’s talented girls cross-country team, I ventured down Veneta way to cover a midweek meet. And yes, the girls won in a convincing way on a hot afternoon. Coverage includes a gallery with 40-plus images. Over in Monroe, the Sheriff’s Office took a man into custody who had barricaded himself inside a residence, prompting nearby schools to go to “lockout” status. Be on the lookout for deer wandering into the road — the BCSO Log this week includes two incidents. Philomath’s volleyball team go up against what looks like a pretty good Santiam Christian squad tonight in the home gym — maybe I’ll see you there. Oh, and a heads up on bingo at the Grange — that’s not going to be offered Friday with a septic system install happening, so it’s been pushed back a week to Sept. 18. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
