VOLUME 7, NUMBER 179
Tuesday, August 18, 2026
Good morning, Philomath.
Time remains to file but as of yesterday, there were five candidates for the three Philomath City Council seats that will be on the November ballot. Longtime city government volunteer Van Hunsaker resigned from the Planning Commission. We have an obituary for Lois Phelps. The School Board will meet on Thursday with an agenda that includes a review of the district’s safety plan. The latest incident logs from the Philomath Police Department and Philomath Fire and Rescue are online. Barbara Grant of Love INC penned a guest viewpoint. — Brad Fuqua, Publisher/Editor
