In a newspaper ad that appeared in 1873, a steam washer promised to make the lives of launderers a lot easier. That news along with items on the Farmers’ Club in 1873, revival meetings in 1898, a resident’s medical ordeal in 1923, the elementary school’s predicament in 1948 and the Lions Club anniversary in 1973 in this week’s From the Past.
