I watched the Shipley historical marker go into the ground a few days ago at Newton Creek Park. I’ll be writing a preview about the upcoming dedication ceremony — but if you want to plan ahead, it’ll be Saturday, July 23, at 11 a.m. The folks involved are lining up an impressive program to recognize an important piece of Philomath history.
