The Philomath High School softball team dropped to 1-3 in the Oregon West Conference Monday with a 16-1 loss at Newport.
The Warriors, now 6-5 overall, will try to get back in the win column on Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. matchup against North Marion. The Huskies enter the game after losing Monday to Sweet Home, 6-5, and have records of 3-11 overall and 0-4 in the league.
Philomath, competing against the Cubs without its full varsity roster, has lost three straight.
