Died — Friday evening, June 20, at the home of his son, Howard Wagner, ten miles south of Corvallis, William H. Wagner, in his 62nd year, of heart disease. Deceased leaves a widow and several children. The funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Evangelical church in this city, Rev. Phelps officiating, with interment in Newton cemetery.

Editor’s note: William Henry Wagner was born Feb. 1, 1853, in Herkimer County, New York. The son of a German-born father, Mr. Wagner was a farmer in Benton County. Apoplexy, a condition he had suffered from for more than three years, was listed as the cause of death on his death certificate. According to the 1910 census, Mr. Wagner lived with his wife, Marion (Mary), and Luella, a 23-year-old daughter, in the west Philomath vicinity. Going back 10 years earlier, he lived with his wife, daughter and a son, Howard, in Corvallis and worked as a wood dealer.
