William H. Morgan, Oregon pioneer and a resident of Benton county for the past eight years, passed away early this morning at the family home at Philomath, his death following a brief illness. Mr. Morgan, who was 71 years of age, came to Oregon 40 years ago, and prior to locating at Philomath had resided in Coos county, near Marshfield. He is survived by his wife and seven children, two children having preceded him to the world beyond. The daughters and sons are Mrs. Ida Magee of Lakeside, Oregon; A.I. Morgan of Berkeley, California; N.V. Morgan of Idaho; Mrs. Agnes Congdon, Horton, Oregon; Mrs. Lucia Pimm of Portland; Mrs. Gertrude Danielson of Tillamook, and W.C. Morgan of Marshfield, southern Oregon.

Several of the sons and daughters will come to Philomath for the funeral to be held from the U.B. church in Philomath at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon. Interment will be in Newton cemetery.
