Of Accidental Discharge of Gun.
———
Monte Lowell Davis, the 10 year old son of J.L. Davis, formerly of this county, was killed Saturday at Madras eastern Oregon, when his little brother accidentally discharged a 22 caliber rifle. He lived only five hours after the accident.
The Davis family lived near Beulah where Mrs. Davis died in September. Mr. Davis then moved his family to Madras where they now reside.
No definite arrangements have been made for the funeral, but interment will be in Newton’s cemetery and probably tomorrow. The body is at Conger’s funeral parlors.

The funeral services over the remains of Monte Lowell Davis, the ten-year-old son of J.L. Davis, was held at two o’clock this afternoon from the Conger funeral chapel, Rev. E. Burton of the Baptist church, officiating. The body was brought to Corvallis from Madras, Eastern Oregon, where the lad was killed by the accidental discharge of a rifle in the hands of a younger sister.
Editor’s note: Based on the grave marker, the boy’s first name was Mont. However, the year of birth listed on the grave marker appears to be an error based on information provided in a death certificate.
