Mrs. Cain Died Last Night and
Mr. Daniels Buried On
Sunday Just Past

Mrs. Matilda E. Cain, widow of the late H.E. Cain, died at 6:40 last evening at the home of her mother, Mrs. M.E. Gurwell, 553 Harrison street. Her death followed a long illness from diabetes, with pneumonia complications developing during the past week. The funeral service will be held from the late home of the deceased, 404 south Fifth street, at 10:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, with burial in Newton cemetery. Dr. G.R. Varney will conduct the service at the home and the Order of the Eastern Star will be in charge of the burial service at the grave.
Mrs. Cain was aged 49 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Roy L. Couch of LaGrande, eastern Oregon, and Mrs. George E. Hinze of North Bend, both of whom have been with their mother during the past ten days; her mother, Mrs. Gurwell, one sister, Mrs. Bertha McIntyre, deputy to Assessor C.L. Tallman, three small grandchildren and other relatives. Mr. Cain passed away nine months ago.
