HARVEST
OF DEATH
Mrs. Mary Horton, aged 72 years, died in this city last Saturday, a victim of tuberculosis. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the family home, 13th and Adams street, Rev. D. H. Leech officiating.
Mary Horton was born at Summerfield, Ohio, July 17, 1836, and died Jan. 16, 1909, aged 72 years, 5 months and 29 days. Her maiden name was Willey. She was married at the age of nineteen to Moses Horton. About thirteen years after their marriage they moved to Kansas and lived there seven years. In December, 1875, they moved to Oregon, and the next year her husband died.
She was the mother of nine children, the first two of which died in infancy, and three more after reaching maturity. She leaves four children to mourn her loss: Edwin, Charles, and Rose Horton, and Adelaide Irwin, of Waterville, Wash.; also one granddaughter, Winnifred Gates. In her early life she was a member of the M. E. church of Summerfield, Ohio, and for the past ten years of the M. E. church of Corvallis.
The burial was made at Newton cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Horton, aged 72 years and five months, succumbed to tuberculosis Saturday, January 16. Under the direction of Henkle & Blackledge the funeral was held Monday from the family residence at 13th and Adams streets, Rev. D. H. Leech officiating, interment being in Mt. Union cemetery.
