Submits to Operation — Mrs. Ray Beattie of Philomath submitted to a major operation this week and is reported to be getting along as well as could be expected. Her son, Walter Beattie, who has been employed in Spokane, arrived here recently to be at his mother’s bedside.

Dies at Noon Today

Mrs. Margaret Eldora Beattie, wife of Ray Beattie, and mother of Claude A., Roy F., Walter R. Beattie, and Mrs. Ruby B. Gause of Blue Springs, Nebr., died in Corvallis today at 12:15 p.m.
The body is being held at the M.S. Bovee company funeral home, and funeral arrangements will be announced Monday.

Funeral Thursday — The funeral for Mrs. Margaret Eldora Beattie, wife of Ray Beattie of Philomath, who died Monday in Corvallis, will be held Thursday at 2 o’clock from the Brick chapel at Philomath. Rev. W.A. Nicols will officiate and interment will be in Newton cemetery, in charge of the M.S. Bovee Co.

Arrives for Funeral — Mrs. Ruby B. Gause of Blue Springs, Neb., arrived in Corvallis this afternoon, called here by the death of her mother, Mrs. Ray Beattie of Philomath. She will attend the funeral to be held at Philomath tomorrow and is to remain in Benton county for a time to visit her father and other relatives.
