J. W. LENGER
DEAD
———

John Lenger, familiarly known for many years as “No. 9,” died at his home in this city yesterday evening about 8 o’clock, following a breakdown that came several months ago. Mr. Lenger was for thirty years carrier of the mail between the post office and railroad station, and in all this time never missed a train. Mr. Lenger was a man generally liked, highly respected, and the father of an estimable family which has the sympathy of a wide circle of friends. As an expressman Mr. Lenger exploited the phrase “No. 9 Wants a Job,” and it is well known history here that when he got one, he always attended to it in the right way. That’s the reason he always had all he could do. Mr. Lenger’s memory will ever be cherished here.
