AGED CITIZEN OF BENTON
COUNTY DIES AT HOME
WEST OF PHILOMATH
———
Jackson White, resident of Benton county for more than a score of years, died yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the family home seven miles west of Philomath. Mr. White was stricken with paralysis over a year ago and had never been quite himself since, his death resulting from that trouble and general debility. The funeral service will be held from the Westwood or Pleasant Valley church at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Nisewonder of Philomath will officiate and interment will be in Pleasant Valley cemetery.
Mr. White was born May 31, 1850, and at the time of his death was aged 72 years. He came west from Clear Lake, Iowa, more than 20 years ago and after a year or more spent in Corvallis, the family moved to the farm home west of Philomath where Mr. White had since resided.
He is survived by his widow and three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Von Lehe of Corvallis, Mrs. Morris Goodrich of Philomath, and Mrs. R.J. Thornton of Edgar, Montana.
Editor’s note: Records show the Mr. White was moved to Mount Union Cemetery in 1950 where he shares a grave marker with his wife, Alice White, who died in 1952. Mr. White’s death certificate shows the cause of death to be cerebral hemorrhage with paralysis.
