Mrs. Harriet Hill of Philomath — Bur-
ied in Newton Cemetery Today.

Mrs. Harriet Hill, wife of W.W. Hill, of the firm Hill & Son, merchants at Philomath, died at the family residence Sunday afternoon. The funeral took place from the Methodist church at Philomath, at 10:30 o’clock this forenoon, Rev. Feese of Corvallis conducting the service. A large number attended the obsequies. The interment was in Newton cemetery.

The maiden name of the deceased was Harriet Lyon. She was born in Ashtabula county, Ohio, 66 years, 11 months and 10 days before her death. In February, 1855 at Springfield, Pennsylvania, she was married to W.W. Hill. The family came to Oregon in 1889, and settled in Philomath, where the husband and son have since been engaged in the grocery business. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church, and was an estimable woman. The survivors are the husband, and Lee Hill, a son. The family resided for several years in Chicago, where two sons are buried.

After an illness of several weeks the death of Mrs. Harriet Hill occurred Sunday at her home in Philomath. She was aged 66 years, 10 months and 11 days. She was the mother of Lee Hill, who, with his father, survives her. Interment was made in Newton cemetery, Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m., and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Feese, of this city.
