Benton Painter Dies — Evan Monris (Harris), of the Burnt Woods district, died at three o’clock yesterday afternoon at the Corvallis General Hospital. Mr. Harris was brought to the hospital a week or two ago, in a serious condition, and the end was not unexpected. The funeral will be held from Bovee’s chapel at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon and interment is to be in Newton cemetery.
Mr. Harris was born in Nebraska, March 20, 1885, and was aged 39 years, eight months and 28 days. He was a painter by profession and had lived in the Burnt Woods neighborhood and Benton county several years. The widow and four children survive. Mr. Harris was a brother of Mrs. George R. Tripp of Corvallis and had other relatives in the county.
