DEATH TAKES TOLL
———
Two Citizens of Benton County
Called Away on Mothers’
Day
———

A life unselfishly devoted to the care of a former husband and her aged mother, both of whom passed away after prolonged illnesses, brought on complications and cancerous trouble that resulted in the death shortly after midnight Saturday of Mrs. Ella Wessel Kilpatrick, wife of S.D. Kilpatrick of Philomath. Mrs. Kilpatrick, herself, had suffered several months from internal complications and the end brought relief to one worn in mind and body.

Mrs. Kilpatrick was born in Indiana November 27, 59 years ago. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph I. Wessel, both deceased, the mother passing away at the Philomath home a year or so ago.

The funeral service was held from Bovee’s chapel this afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in Newton cemetery.

Mrs. Kilpatrick had resided in Philomath a number of years and formerly she and her mother were residents of Corvallis. The husband survives.
