Carmi C. Haskins, of Philomath, aged 22 years and 9 months died this morning from enlargement of the heart. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, at Philomath. Interment will be in Newton cemetery.

Many Corvallis people will recall the young man as he formerly was employed at the Hotel Julian. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Haskins, of Philomath, both of whom survive him. He is survived also by his widow and little girl and by three brothers and one sister.

Editor’s note: A death certificate shows that Mr. Haskins was born April 3, 1894, in Nebraska, which made him 22 years, 8 months and 6 days old at death on Dec. 9, 1916. He was the son of John M. Haskins and Anna Reeder. Burial at Mount Union Cemetery occurred Dec. 11, 1916. One note on the gravestone — it has the incorrect death date (he died Dec. 9, not Dec. 11).
