Alfred C. Brigham Was Native
of Michigan; Lived in Ore-
gon Two Years

Alfred Curtis Brigham, a native of Michigan, died at 4:45 this morning at his home in Philomath. The funeral is to be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Philomath College chapel, with Rev. W.A. Nicols of the United Brethren church officiating. Interment will be in Newton cemetery.
Mr. Brigham was born at Gunn Plains, Mich., May 19, 1851. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Brigham of Massachusetts. When four years of age he moved from Michigan to California with his mother and brother, the party coming by way of the Isthmus of Panama. Later he took up a homestead near Genesee, Ida., and farmed there for 40 years. In 1918 the family moved to Moscow and two years ago came to Oregon to reside at Philomath.
On October 8, 1887, Mr. Brigham married Mrs. Mary Siglee. Two children, a son and daughter, died in infancy. Surviving members of the family are several step-daughters, Mrs. Belle Grigham, of Toledo; Mrs. Alice Pease, Lenore, Ida.; Mrs. Minnie Brigham, Genesee, Ida.; Mrs. Margaret Huntley and Mrs. Ella Barrenger, Philomath, and three children, J.W. Brigham and Miss Bernice Brigham, Genesee, Ida.; and Eddie Brigham of California.
Mr. Brigham was aged 77 years, three months and 19 days.

Editor’s note: A death certificate for Mr. Brigham lists him as a retired farmer with myocarditis as the cause of death (inflammation of the heart muscle). Bovee Co. handled arrangements and he was buried Sept. 9, 1928, at Mount Union Cemetery.
