Monthly volunteer workdays at Mount Union Cemetery returned last month and into this fall. The next gathering is set for this Saturday as organizers look to keep the historic site in good shape.

The work parties run from 9 a.m. to noon with future dates being May 9, June 13, July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12 and Oct. 10.

Volunteers can expect hands-on tasks like cleaning headstones, trimming grass and clearing debris. Coffee, pastries and water are provided as a thank-you to those who turn out.

Organizers are encouraging community members to spread the word and bring others along.

The cemetery is located at 2987 Mount Union Ave.
