The Philomath High School girls tennis team dropped a match at home to district opponent Molalla on Thursday afternoon, 5-3.
The Warriors posted victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, and No. 4 doubles.
Sophomore Bailey Bell continues to shut out opponents with another 6-0, 6-0 victory, this time over Molalla’s Rubie Burge. Freshman Adele Beckstead posted another win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Molalla’s Ansley Nix.
Philomath had a close match at No. 3 singles but came up just short with Daniella Carlisle’s 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 loss to Molalla’s Kylie Smith.
Sophomore Abigail Workman and freshman Ava Simmons had the team’s lone doubles victory with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win over Jessi Langendorfer and Emily Rountree.
The team is scheduled to play on Tuesday at home against Sisters.
