The Philomath City Council plans to meet Monday, Aug. 28 for an agenda that includes a public hearing related to the Millpond Crossing development.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Philomath City Hall.
Millpond Builders submitted a request to vacate the eastern stub out of Head Rig Street, which is located off South 16th Street. The street stub is no longer needed, the city said, due to the earlier approval of a major modification that changed the subdivision’s layout. Although the development’s new configuration was approved, state law requires city council approval in such instances.
Also on the agenda, councilors will revisit the process of choosing specific community-facing projects to be funded by remaining American Rescue Plan Act dollars that the city received. Diversity, equity and inclusion training, the city façade grant program, the city attorney’s retirement and a franchise agreement with Peak Internet are among the other topics to be discussed.
Cascades West Council of Governments is scheduled to give a presentation.
Following regular business, the council is scheduled to adjourn into executive session “to consult legal counsel regarding current litigation or litigation likely to be filed.” Executive sessions are closed to the public. The council may reconvene in regular session if its needs to conduct business and possibly take a vote.
The open meeting portions of the evening will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
